Coleman’s Notes®

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Coleman’s Notes website and your purchase and use of Coleman’s Notes digital publications.

By using this website or purchasing a product from Coleman’s Notes, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Coleman’s Notes

Coleman’s Notes produces independent reader’s companions, student guides and other educational and literary publications designed to help readers explore, understand and study books, authors and literature.

Coleman’s Notes publications are independently produced and are not affiliated with, authorised by or endorsed by the authors, publishers, estates, examination boards or other rights holders associated with the original works unless expressly stated otherwise.

2. Digital Products

Coleman’s Notes products are supplied primarily as digital downloads.

No physical book or other physical product will be supplied unless the relevant product description specifically states otherwise.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have suitable equipment and software to access the digital file format described on the product page.

3. Orders and Payment

Prices displayed on the website are the prices applicable at the time an order is placed, subject to any obvious pricing error.

Payment must be successfully completed before access to a digital product is provided.

After successful payment, digital products will normally be made available electronically using the download or delivery method described during the purchasing process.

We reserve the right to cancel or refund an order where there has been an obvious pricing, technical or product-listing error.

4. Digital Delivery

Digital products are normally made available for download following successful payment.

Delivery may occasionally be delayed because of technical problems affecting the website, payment provider, internet connection or digital-delivery system.

If you have paid for a product but have not received access to it, please contact Coleman’s Notes with your order details so that the issue can be investigated.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

Digital products are subject to different cancellation provisions from physical goods.

Where permitted by applicable consumer law, by requesting immediate access to digital content you may be asked to expressly consent to supply beginning immediately and to acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel may be lost once supply of the digital content begins.

Once a digital product has been supplied, downloaded or accessed, refunds are not normally provided simply because you have changed your mind or no longer require the product.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Please see our Return and Refund Policy for further information.

6. Faulty or Incorrect Digital Content

If a digital product is corrupted, materially incomplete because of a technical fault, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, please contact Coleman’s Notes.

Where appropriate, we may provide a replacement or corrected file, assist with resolving the technical problem, or provide a refund in accordance with applicable consumer law and our Return and Refund Policy.

7. Personal Use Licence

Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing a Coleman’s Notes digital publication gives the purchaser a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the publication for their own personal study, reading and reference.

Purchasing a digital publication does not transfer copyright or ownership of the publication to the purchaser.

8. Schools, Teachers, Tutors and Educational Use

Unless a product or licence expressly permits multiple-user use, purchasing one copy does not automatically provide a licence to distribute copies to an entire class, school, college, tutoring group or other organisation.

Teachers and tutors may use a legitimately purchased copy for their own preparation and reference.

Additional licensing arrangements may be made available separately for educational institutions or multiple users.

9. Copyright and Intellectual Property

The original content, design, commentary, analysis, organisation, branding and other original material contained within Coleman’s Notes publications are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Coleman’s Notes® and associated branding may not be reproduced or used in a way that suggests affiliation, endorsement or authorisation without permission.

References to books, authors, characters and other third-party works remain the property of their respective rights holders where applicable.

Coleman’s Notes publications are independent companion works. They are intended to provide original commentary, analysis and educational material and are not substitutes for the original books.

10. Prohibited Use and Redistribution

Unless expressly authorised in writing, customers must not:

  • reproduce or distribute Coleman’s Notes publications to other people;
  • upload the files to file-sharing services, websites or public repositories;
  • resell or commercially redistribute the files;
  • make substantial portions of the publications publicly available;
  • remove or deliberately obscure copyright or ownership notices;
  • claim Coleman’s Notes material as their own work; or
  • use purchased files to create unauthorised competing copies or derivative commercial publications.

Normal personal use, including reading on your own compatible devices and maintaining reasonable personal backup copies, is permitted.

11. Collections and Bundles

Coleman’s Notes may offer collections containing several publications at a discounted price.

The product page will identify the titles included in the collection at the time of purchase.

Customers should check the contents of a collection before purchasing. Purchasing a collection containing a title that the customer has previously purchased individually does not normally create an entitlement to a partial refund.

12. Educational and Academic Use

Coleman’s Notes publications are intended as supplementary educational and reading resources.

Where a guide discusses examinations, assessment objectives, coursework, essay writing or academic requirements, students should also consult the current requirements provided by their school, college, teacher, examination board or educational institution.

Coleman’s Notes does not guarantee any particular examination grade, academic result or educational outcome.

13. Accuracy and Updates

Reasonable care is taken in researching, preparing and reviewing Coleman’s Notes publications.

However, literary interpretation is inherently open to discussion and disagreement, and no publication can guarantee that every interpretation will be universally accepted.

We may correct, revise or update publications where appropriate.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

The Coleman’s Notes website may contain links to third-party websites or services.

These external services are operated independently and Coleman’s Notes is not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices or terms.

Payment processing, website hosting and digital delivery may also involve third-party service providers.

15. Website Availability

We aim to keep the Coleman’s Notes website and digital purchasing facilities available, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed.

Access may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, technical problems, security reasons or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

16. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Subject to those rights, Coleman’s Notes will not be responsible for losses arising from misuse of a product, incompatible customer equipment or software, unauthorised redistribution, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

17. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Coleman’s Notes Privacy Policy.

Please read the Privacy Policy for information about how personal information is collected, used and protected.

18. Changes to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to our products, services, website, business practices or applicable legal requirements.

The version published on the Coleman’s Notes website at the time of purchase will apply to that purchase, subject to applicable law.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales.

Consumers may also have rights under mandatory consumer-protection laws applicable where they live.

20. Contact

Questions concerning these Terms & Conditions, an order or a Coleman’s Notes digital publication should be directed to Coleman’s Notes using the contact details provided on our website.
