The Silkworm — Reader’s Companion & Study Guide

CN-002 | Robert Galbraith | £6.95

A missing novelist. A grotesque manuscript. A murder staged like fiction.

Novelist Owen Quine disappears after completing Bombyx Mori, a scandalous manuscript containing vicious fictional versions of people throughout his literary circle. His wife Leonora asks private detective Cormoran Strike to find him.

When Quine is discovered murdered in circumstances echoing his manuscript, almost everyone portrayed in Bombyx Mori appears to have a motive.

This comprehensive Coleman’s Notes® Reader’s Companion reconstructs the investigation, explains the manuscript at the heart of the mystery and separates genuine evidence from the novel’s many suspects and red herrings.

Inside the guide: Story in Five Minutes; series position; main characters; relationship map; central mystery; detailed chapter-by-chapter companion; Bombyx Mori explained; complete murder solution; suspect matrix; clues and red herrings; Strike & Robin; Matthew & Charlotte; themes and literary background; ending explained; preparation for Career of Evil; discussion questions; and Quick Recall.

The guide also follows Robin’s growing transformation from secretary into investigator, culminating in Strike recognising her abilities and giving her a surveillance course.
